Siemens launches initiative to prepare CNC production earlier
The Meet at the Machine initiative connects machine builders, software and automation to support preparation before equipment delivery.

Siemens introduced Meet at the Machine, an initiative bringing machine builders, engineering software and automation together. TRAK Machine Tools is the first partner in the framework.
Preparation before delivery
The first phase aims to let manufacturers program, simulate and validate production while a new machine is still being built. Siemens describes a connected workflow intended to move preparation activities earlier than the installation stage.
A practical consideration for manufacturers
When planning a machinery investment, include tooling, fixtures, part programs, operator preparation and acceptance criteria in the delivery plan. Equipment readiness and production readiness are separate milestones; assigning owners to both can make the handover more controlled.
