Build a quality system that supports everyday work

Connect process ownership, useful records and improvement actions to the way your plant actually operates.

Connect quality to the process

A useful quality system connects customer requirements with the activities that fulfil them. Identify process owners and the handovers where information, materials or acceptance decisions can be lost. Make responsibilities clear to the people doing the work.

Use evidence that helps decisions

Choose records that show whether the process works: inspection results, recurring issues and completed actions. Keep instructions understandable and accessible. A document only helps when it reflects the current process and people know how to use it.

Keep improvement active

Review recurring problems, assign action owners and check whether corrective actions address their causes. Involve the relevant team members in those reviews. ISO’s quality management principles emphasize customer focus, process thinking, evidence-based decisions and improvement.
